flat tire on 30 series
I purchased new rims and tires last summer and hardly ever drive the car (got les than 500 miles on it since) and one day I drove over the train tracks and sounded like the tires compressed. That was months ago so I dodn't know if it caused it but my one tire is flat. I inflated it couple of weeks ago and haven't driven again until today. It's flat again. When I inflated it I didn't hear any air leak out. could I have had bent the rim to a point where air leaks out? It doesn't look bent to me. Thanks in advance.

With a 30 series tire you don't have that much protection, you hit a large pot hole or railroad track or hump in the road, it could have easily bent the wheel, most of the time not able to see until tire is dismounted. You can always do the soapy water thing if you are too hard up to take wheel to tire shop, but once you find out, you'll be heading that way soon anyways, might as well save yourself the time and hassle. Good luck bro

Your stament is not entirely true, a 275/30 has as much sidewall as a 245/35, so I wouldn't go as far as stating a "30 series". And as mater of fact, i've seen wheels on higher series tires get bent just as bad as lower series, so it all depends on how and size of pot hole you hit, as well as the type of wheels you have.
