I was thinking of getting 3000k H.I.D fogs for my gs4 and still use the capsules too get a better yellow, did anyone ever done this? if so can i see a pic plz. or u guy dont think thats a good idea??? thanx

nooooooooooooooo 3000k will be yellow enough, you DO NOT need the caps, even so, hids would most likely burn the caps since the are alot hotter than normal halogen lights

as said above it will look like a bumble bee yellow with 3k + caps. but in the long run i noticed when i put back my halogens a few months back 1 of my bulbs burned out and the color is not as yellow anymore, its more of a brownish yellow due to the heat i guess. wonder has any1 sprayed the capsule with yellow transparent paint or laminx the inside capsule to gain back the full brightness of the yellow.

been asked to death i like mine....only thing some people do or dont like is at startup they look lime green, i personally like it but some people dont.

What is meant by clear capsules? Is that the outer housing itself?

for the gs430/400's theres a yellow capsule that surrounds the bulb to create the yellow output. for the regular 300's there is none thus (clear).

I was thinking about going with yellow fog lights this summer on my GS3. Will 3000k make it appear yellow through the clear capsules?

Edit: After reading this again I realize that my question is kind of a stupid one. I guess the proper thing to ask is what's the quality of the light on putting 3000k in the clear capsules?

depending on quality of the bulb. some 3k's give off a brighter yellow than others but it wont be as "yellow" as a 3k + yellow capsule.

actually the opposite. Halogen bulbs emit more heat than HID bulbs.

Kelvin scale on color temperature is NOT related to the actual "heat" temperature.

^^^ What he said! HID kits come in 35w 55w i believe regular halogen bulbs are 75-100w correct me if im wrong. I was planning on putting HID in my yellow capsule fogs too. Does anybody have pics of how the projects?
