If you can spring the cash for a 550 sport pack, go for it. No mods needed as the car drives as if it is on rails. As far as reliabilty, if you take care of a car it will take care of you.. This is coming from a 3 times over BMW owner who presently owns two trouble free Bimmers.

 

Interesting. I was keen to trade in my GS3 for an 05 535i or E430 (I'm a closet mid-size German lux car freak) but after reading horror stories I think I'll just GTE swap the GS, seems to be a safer bet.

 

+1 for all the comments re: bmw and same goes for benz, my thoughts are the germans have some great cars for lease yes i say lease because after the lease on these brand new cars wear out you get to spend more time and money in the repair shops then on the road. where you could have bought a lexus or a brand new beamer/benz if it fits your needs.
