Default Need help asap - starter rebuild

Hello - I'm attempting a starter rebuild for the first time so I have my engine apart (manifold is off) and I think I read if you weren't replacing the whole starter you could just remove the solenoid housing and replace the plunger and contacts. I'm hoping someone can tell me how many bolts would need to be removed to just take off this part of the starter where the plunger and contacts reside.

Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to remove the whole starter...
Remove the cross coolant pipe and you can access the two starter bolts.
Use caution with the knock sensor harness.
Good luck.
