Default Dealer demo model

The dealership has the ca my g-friends mom wants. Lev/Nav/Sport package in silver but it's a demo model w/ 4800 mils on it and it's an 02. Still a used car to me buthaen't found a new one w/ those specs. What would you offer for this car? I'm thinkin 38k out the door.

Even tough you consider it a used car, the fact is, that the car has never been titled to anyone which, makes it a new car.
I'm sure the dealership will work with you to compensate for the mileage. What is the sticker on the car? I'd imagine that, with that type of mileage, they would mark the car down around 3-4k.
Keep in mind that they are not going to mark it down more than that. Also, it is a Lexus. I'm not trying to burst your bubble, but, the car is still considered new. Let us know what happens. Take care, Mike D.

Default shouldn't be considered used

With 4800 miles a true demo should not be considered used. I don't know howit works in VA, but in NY a car can have up to 7500 miles on it as long as it hasn't been registered yet and still be sold as new. In NY they use dealer tags on the car that don't require the car to be registered. 4800 is not alot of mileage imho, but I'd definitely use it as a bargaining chip.

I'm a little confused by your post. Am I correct to assume this is a GS300 and not a GS430? When you say "Lev/Nav/Sport Package", do you mean it has the Mark Levinson/Navigation system package and that it is a SportDesign special edition model?

Assuming all that is correct, what you have described is NOT a rare combination. If she really wants a brand new one, she should be easily able to get it. On the other hand, if she doesn't mind the miles, it's just like Mike D. said--they'll probably knock a few grand off the MSRP right off the bat. Then she can bargain for some free accessories or service visits or whatever.

Dude I hope it's not Lindsay of Alexandria! Those bastards really screwed me over! Keep us posted. Usually Pohanka and Rockville, and Silver Spring are decent!
