Default New to the Lexus family.

I recently bought a 1999 GS300. Was a one owner car with 155,000 miles. Very nice condition my only issue is with the headlights, they have the condensation problem. I called Lexus hoping for some kind of a recall, but was told there wasnt and that the best they can do for me is to give me the new headlights for $350. each. I decided to take the old headlights out...dry them out...and try to seal them with clear silicone. Not sure if this will work....but maybe they will stay dry for a while.

Love the car...hope it will be a good one. I see lots of post of people with way more miles than mine.

Thanks.

My headlights have the same problem. I am going to try and sand them down and buff them out this Summer so they look good, then reseal them with silicone and replace the rubber on the outside because it is breaking down. I have heard that the headlights originally come with a UV Protect-ant on the outside and when that wears down they tend to get hazy on the outside quicker. I was wondering if anyone knows where you could get a UV Protect-ant or some kind of clear coat to put on the plastic that would keep it in great condition and looking brand new.

wel come welcome to the club. As for the headlights, reseal them. as for the hazzyness there is a DIY kit and thread on the forums for that. should be a 20$ job.
