You know I've worked on 4cyl engines for 9yrs of my life off and on. I've had the privileged
of working around v6/8's. Minor things. Exhaust manifolds, gaskets, etc etc. So I was apprehensive about digging deep inside my first v8 and risk fouling up this big expensive behemoth, but once I focus my mind on something I 9.9/10 times just do it.
So it's natural to feel challenged, you just have to overcome it.

Nope. To be honest I wasted time playing with that IM, but it was an experience so knowledge learned. Motors so dirty I'm just gonna pull it. Plus I have had a customer trans rebuild goin on, my grandmas avalon servicing, my civic part-out going on, to top off last week my wife was hit and totaled the accord on the 25th. Pulled it out the tow yard today, so Her car is here now, going to be parted out also. Bzzzzzzzzzzz't.....Buzzy as a bumble bee!
GS gets the love trickling downhill for now........
Didn't have much time but I got a few more items out the way. Think I'm switching to pulling the whole motor and cleaning house.
Borrowed this awesome tool to aide in the crank pulley removal
More to come but all I've done up to now.

If you could when reinstalling, could you take some pictures for me?
Basically I removed alot of bolts, then as I worked down to the injectors I couldn't see anything else, not sure if there were more bolts towards the bottom of the IM where it meets the 'head'. I've heard in the rear there is a fuel line, or coolant line. I'm not trying to break that -- any words?

Your right there are more down by the fuel rail that are usually covered by dirt n grime. They are 12mm bolts w/ an optional torx ( * ) socket center. A 12mm will be fine, dont stress over a torx socket. These bolts are in between each injector, on both sides at the base of the IM. Don't worry about the coolant lines in the rear, I haven't removed mine. I will later when I pull the motor.
P.s. Also remove the fuel dampeners while the IM is still affixed, a lot easier. It's a 22mm wrench. You can undue the 10mm bolt in the rear that attaches the fuel pipe to the IM when you pull it out.

Amen! Lol. Thanks for chiming in. That's what I'll do. Now as for the alternator....in the future I plan to get some sort of air ride and minor sound system upgrade, should I invest in a higher amp ALT.?

I guess it's not really an update because it's a partial teaser. It's not what you think but the wheels I've always wanted for this car have arrived, in work boxes. Since the moment I saw these wheels I knew I'd buy them, no matter the cost. So I put the rebuild on the back burner just to purchase these rims ahead of schedule, at a "bargain price" IMO.
19x9.5/10.5 - Better teasers later on....gotta find some tires and a good fender roller puller man!
9.5 3pc forged

Thanks Classique, Hopefully things shape up and I can get it altogether quickly. If not no rush, in do time. I don't plan on selling the GS, so slow motion is better than no motion hahaha.

I'll keep those to a minimum. There will be a total of 5 teasers in this thread, the new shoes will be #1. I won't unveil them for a while. Just hype anyway. I hate teasers too but sometimes it's necessary
