serpintine belt tensioner
Driving back from getting lunch today, I could smell this burning scent, then I lost power steering and a battery light came on the dash. Luckly it was about 5 mins from work because the heat gage started to get to the hot side.. checked under the hood and the serpintine belt was snapped!
The belt tensioner had seized and snapped the belt. $300 for a new tensioner and belt.

Purchase a generic tensioner from ebay -- doesn't have to be oem. You can get one for like $25 shipped, or go through sewellpartsonline.com -- clublexus for the discount price. Belt -- either gates or oem.
advanceautoparts.com has some great coupon codes as well -- like $100 off 175 etc.
