HID Fog Light Fuse
I got a HID Fog Light Mod for 2 years now. The only problem is that the fuse tended to burn all the time if I started my car while having the fog light turned on. It doesn’t burn the fuse while I have stock fog light. I searched here and someone had tried using 25A or 20A fuse compared to 15A. I just afraid higher amp will fry my computer board and its extreme expansive to fix.
I did the Banangs DIY fog light mod. The only weird thing is both DRL are not turn on after a week of mod.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid the burn fuse everytime I start my car while having the HID Fog Light turn on?

with electronics you normally dont want to have all of your electronics come one all at once. thats kind of why if your circuit breaker in your house trips that you turn the circuits on one by one instead of just flipping them all on cuz it may trip again. Same concept. turn your car on then turn on the headlights then the fogs. In my car i always turn everything off before i turn the car off. A/c radio lights. then when i turn it on i do one at a time. Its not necessary but it can prevent things like this from happening. Im having the same problem with my fogs but i found out that one of my ballast burnt out and its causing my fuse to constantly blow. So gotta replace my ballast

I am using the 35 watts now, but one of the ballast went bad. I will change a whole HID. I have tried with the stock fog light on while turn on the ignition and no problem, but it just happened when I have the HID fog light.

Thought this would help you out some. You might be better off using a relay in order to keep from blowing fuses. When the car turns on your daytime running lights turn on and if your fogs are on, those are trying to turn on at the same time. I'm not sure what brand/type of HID ballast you have but, the average current draw that I have seen is just over 7.5 amps when first firing up then they sit at around 3 amps. That's 15 amps alone just for the HID ballast trying to fire up, not sure what the daytime running lights draw when they kick on. So when they are all trying to turn on at the same time, more than likely you are surpassing the safe current for the fuse.
