Smile Finally got my car back!!!!

Whats up Cl, 2 months ago i purchased a 98 gs300 with a couple of issues at least thats what i thought, but it turn out to be a lot more than what i expect it, It had a blown headgasket so i decided to replace the motor and tranny and master cylinder, I did the tune up on the new engine while it was out and got new motor mounts as well. (ouch) in total i spent $2,200 but i finally got my car back after almost a month, now the car is running nice & smooth.
Now my plans are to work on my front end get some new rims and lower the car and in the future i would like to repaint the car but thats gotta wait for now.

Welcome back. Why spend $2000 on an engine replacement if it was only a head gasket? was the replacement engine lower mileage? etc etc. Just probing because I'm in a similar boat.

@jdmjnky the original motor had 214xxx miles when it blew the head gasket that was gonna cost me like $700 to fix. i was gonna go for a 2jzgte vvti swap but i found a 2002 gs300 with 65,768 miles donor so i went for that instead that was $1,200 than the master cylinder cost me $200 my homeboy charged me $500 to do the swap and the rest i spent on mounts, good spark
plugs, ect ect... But the car is running sweet no cel no problems what so ever im really happy with it.

Gotcha. Makes sense. Like I said I was curious and I keep going back and forth with a rebuild ( for a piece of mind ) or a replacement ( for a piece of pocket ..lol ). All in all glad your back on the road.
