I have the Continental Eco Tires atm.
I live in nyc, and i commute on the high way for 20+ miles daily. SO i need some decent all season tires. Any suggestions. Id like to have a good balance of grip and performance. Affordable too.

The other day i did 130mph going to jersey...(only for a min) Im lucky i didnt have a blow out. My tires are dry and cracked down the middle.
I feel confident i can keep em till the fall because i wont do any driving this summer. But the tireshop was like "no no, get one tire then..." I was like why the **** would i do just one tire. That makes no sense. If all 4 tires have look dry and rotting. Im going to just do all 4. I almost told him to put a new set of the same tires. But then i changed my mind. Im better off coming here first to see what you guys are runnin.
Also i didnt see any rot on the sides just in the mid areas, and outside corners.

I guess you can never go wrong with Michelin but, they are pricey and I mean there are other good brands like bridgestone and dunlop and plenty others, it really comes down to price

Ever since I had an accident due partially to cheap tires, I don't try to save money on tires anymore.
In the long run, tires are not a big total cost of ownership compared to fuel, insurance etc etc. This is considering if you are not thinking of just selling your car soon.
Read Tire rack article on taking the long view on tire selection choice and Value:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=75
That being said, don't get ripped off on tires either, you don't need z-rated tires; but cheap tires aren't a good value either. Whatever you decide, still shop around and take advantage of sales such as the Costco michelin/bridgestone $70 off or whatever your tire shop is promoting.

If you're willing to get those tires, take a look at the Michelin Exalto A/S tires. About the same price, or cheaper if you look at h-rated versus v-rated but should be pretty good. Again it's still on you to search for best price available.
They're ranked #1 in tirerack's survey for their category.

I think there are a few posts on CL that recommended them, search to find; I have them as well.
