the three reviews i read were mainly addressed towards the GPS
the main concern for the GPS is that for such an expensive unit the GPS is nowhere near where it should be, which is true.
I, Myself, believe the GPS is fine and it gets me where I need to go, there are some flaws in the GPS
that being said, Pioneer is at the top of the DDIN Head unit world right now the only competitor is the Kenwood DNX 9980 (which barely came out too)
main comparisons between kenwood and pioneer is that kenwood has garmin navigation while pioneer has the easier user interface
ipod integration with pioneer is great and the interface, load time, etc. is really fast. kenwood overall is a little slower and defintely way overpriced.
I read many reviews before deiciding to buy the AVIC Z series
hopefully I addressed some issues

Yes you can have as many pics as you want. Just make sure to only have pics in that PICTURES folder. To display them, the pics might have to be a certain kilobyte/pixel size. You choose them under the "splash screen" option on the settings.
A few issues people are having is
the screen randomly goes black-hasn't happened.
the gps lags-hasn't happened
the unit freezes up-hasn't happened
etc...
I can admit the gps isn't the greatest since it's not say Garmin based like a Kenwood but I didn't buy this primarily for that. The XM works great, ipod integration is fantastic, bluetooth calling is a breeze and is pretty damn clear. It's also cheaper then it's predecessor, the z120.
Maybe i'm just an easy sell because anything is better than my old stock 12yr old setup but I just think people are so quick to bash anything new that comes out these days.

Well the Pioneer gex-p920xm tuner was like $100. Since I already have a subscription with XM adding this radio was $8.99/month plus a $15 radio activation fee, some random music royalty fee and tax. So for the year it ended up costing me $138.
Well I don't wanna thread jack and it's kinda hard to break it down because I had a ton of work done. Headunit, new speakers, 2 jl 10w7ae's, custom boxes, custom amp rack, 2nd battery, upgraded terminals up front etc....
