How to remove GS Steering wheel
I am in the current wood steering wheel group buy. Finally it's my turn to send in the wheel, big thanks to Manaray. I just safely removed my air bag and stuff. But I had a hard time to shake loose the wheel from the column. Any one has experience with this? Should I need a puller? Lexus wheel is kind of special and requires a special puller. Any help would be appreciated.
I will have a full detailed write-up after I finish this project so all GS owners can share.
Thanks.

You'll need to put the 19MM nut back on, just for a few thread. And try to move it left and right, up and down. You'll have to put some effort to it. It will come out, but make sure you put the nut back to stop it from hitting you when the steering wheel comes loose.

Try using a small piece of wood, and giving it a stern "whack" from a hammer, with that 19mm nut backed off a few threads. That should knock it loose enough to wiggle it off.

Will a universal steering wheel puller not work?? There are a couple different kinds at auto stores - try AutoZone, Advanced, NAPA, even Wal-Mart. They are really inexpensive.
I really wish this link worked...it doesn't right now and may never again.

I remember reading it earlier in the year about someone adding cruise to their Toyota Prius and having to remove the steering wheel to do so. It is the same steering wheel as the '98-'00 GS. They used a standard steering wheel puller to take it off.

Thanks Guys, I successfully got the wheel removed. I bought a puller from Auto Zone and the job is just a snap.
The GS4 wheel with shift buttons is so complicated. It took me 30 minutes to dis-assemble it, I had to make drawing and notes to make sure I can put everything back when I get my wheel back.
