Do you think you can take a decent picture of it? I don't have my car at home right now, so I can't check on mine.

Look at the DYI for changing spark plugs. It has pics and instructions on how to take the cable off.

did you mean removing the cable by just twisting the black piece and taking out the cable? I thought it would be more difficult then that because I just did that and disconnected the battery. Im going to leave them off for a hour and hopefully it fixes this. Is this what you did?

Its definitely not normal for a car to idle on park at 1800RPM on cold start, its 70 degrees out here and it still starts at 1800 when I first start the car, once the idle temp is norm it drops down to like 600RPM at idle and like 900 at park which should be normal

So. I disconnected the battery for a hour and left the throttle cable unhooked at the same time. I reconnected everything and still the same. Even leaving my car off for a hour in 70 degree weather caused it to idle at like 1600 rpms. Once it gets to norm temp though its normal and goes down to about 700 and when in drive sbout 5-600 rpms

i've noticed that if i have the ac or heater on auto when i start the car on a cold start my car revs up to like 1800 but if i turn that off the rpm is at like 1400 til it gets warm n slowly goes down to like 700

So what is the harm in high RPM on start when your car still idel just fine?

Iridiums or platinum spark plugs are just a matter of material for better conducting electricity between the gap to ignite the air and fuel mixture. Both are good either way. I personaly buy NGK iridiums they are suppost to last longer and more "better performance". But either way I change them out every 60K.

Cleaning the throat body is a good thing.

So what is the matter?

I don't think anything would be bad about high idle on startup its just weird because it never did that. It sounds louder so its kind of annoying and I would imagine it wastes more gas.it just doesn't seem normal

It should be around 1500 rpm on cold starts. Then gradually dropping to 900 rpm.

i think is normal. in the morning the computer will add more fuel to the injectors to make the engine warm up faster.

Even better if you got to remove the cable without unscrewing anything.

I still don't think it's normal for the engine to rev that high, regardless of the outside temperature. Mine has never exceeded 1400rpm at start-up, even at freezing temperatures.

How does the engine idle when warm. It should be around 700-750rpm.
