Default change headlight indicator on. Help?

hey guys , the other day i was driving and an indicator popped up...didnt know what it was so i looked it up in the manual and it says i have to replace lights...headlights im assuming. Thing is i dont think any lights are burnt out, all my lights, headlight and tailights, seem to be working perfectly but the indicator wont go away. Any thoughts on this?

Perhaps try changing your low beam bulbs (assuming those are the ones used the most) and see if the indicator goes away. I'm sure with all the fancy electronics that are on our cars it can more or less sense when the bulb is going to burn out. It's probably just another preventative measure Lexus has given us for safety

which indicator popped up? Its probably the one for the rear. Did you recently put LED tail lights on? If not, check your bulbs on your tails. I had that problem a long time ago when I had my oems and always thought it was wrong, but when I changed over to the LED tails, I found that I didnt even have a bulb on one of the harnesses back there. I bring it up because I couldnt tell it didnt have one by just stepping on the brakes, the other bulb filled in pretty good. (not sure if any of that makes sense LoL)

Well it's either you gamble with which light is about to burn out or you just wait until it actually burns out if you can live with the indicator.

I highly doubt its detecting a bulb thats about to burn out, sounds a bit outrageous. The indicator light works off of how much current is passing through the bulb. If no current is going through or rather if the circuit is not complete (meaning busted bulb) the absence of current triggers the 'lamp out' indicator. Kind of dumb if Lexus put a "hey, you light might go out soon" indicator with no clues to which... Almost as bad as the first pagers that came out with not screen and you had to guess who was paging you LoL, this is 2011 not 1984 ;P

Maybe it's the headlight leveling warning light that popped up?

Well, atleast we're sure it has nothing to do with the auto-leveling system.

That's the rear light warning. Just have someone stand behind the car while you cycle through all the lights/turn signals to find out what went out.

Thank you. does the light turn on right as you turn the car on or does it come on after you hit the brake pedal? Get in the car, keep foot off brake pedal and turn car on and look for it. If its not on, hit your brakes and see if it does, if it turns on, then its gonna be one of your brake lights (which I'm certain it is) IIRC, the brake bulb is a double filament and shares with the parking lights; this is why its a little hard to tell if its the brake light or not because the bulb is always on.

Remember, the dash light will not come on until the bulb that is busted is put to use. The light shouldn't be on right when you turn the car on, unless you have your headlights set on auto (which your parking lights come on automatically when you turn it on). Now if its a turn signal, then the light wont turn on until you use the turn signal, just like it wont turn on until you hit your brakes or turn your parking lights on etc.
