gauge colors/lights
Gents,
Great thread.. I just bought (took over a lease on) a 2002 GS430 and I will be changing the color of the gauges, or the numbers/letters, or SOMETHING... The bright green/white/blue/whatever just kills me. If you've seen the LS430 gauges, now THERE's a fricking set of gauges! Black background, with white numbers/letters, and floating (almost 3D looking) needles.
I called a mechanic friend to ask about what everyone (including people from ClubLexus) says is impossible: changing the gauges from black on white to something else: white on black, black on gray, ANYTHING except what's there now.
I'm even considering putting in custom gauges. LOL Yes, they bug me, and yes, I will solve it somehow.
Appreciate any thoughts you might have - recommendations, etc. I've called some places already here in LA with not much success. My friend should be able to help somehow.
These are the issues we face day in and day out.. LOL

My UK December 1997 Mark 2(one of the 1st built) has totally unquestionably white dials. Once or twice they looked a touch yellowish in certain sunlight. And I'm confused by someones question about how you make them bright at night. If the brightness ajuster is on, the car auto ajusts the light at night and even if I drive through a tunnel so its very bright white. When I exit a tunnel and the ambient light changes I can sometimes see my dials light strength change on the spot.
