Default Instrument Light Color Question~!

Hello Fellow Lexus Owners.

I have this burning question.

Does the 2001-2002 GS have bluish white back-lit instrument gauges whereas pre-01 models have greenish back-lit gauges?

Or are they the same???
Thanks!

they are all the same, this greenish blueish color. However every GS is alittle different due to many reasons. And often when you take pics of the cluster, it comes out white. But I haven't seen 1 GS in real life with white gauges.

thanks!! is there any way to change the color, by the way?
it would be more appealing if the lights were more bluish, don't you guys think?

Hehe, i asked the same question last week. On the Lexus website, they gauges are blue. When I've taken pics of mine, they come out in a dark ugly green. But they are in life, WHITE. Thank god. Green is just aweful. The blue would be nice, but as someone said, they would cause some headache or confusion.

yes, that was why i asked. the lexus pics show them as blue-white. maybe they photoshopped it? or maybe the 03 models really do have different color back-lights??

i actually like our white gauges a lot. a nice bright white. anybody know how to disable the dimming feature that goes on at night?

as far as blue goes, them VW have a very pretty blue. a good change in my mind is the get a new color to the back lighting of all the little buttons and console pieces. really, who in the world likes that damn puke green. its not even the most practical color

All years are the same. I was just at the dealership yesterday and checked out the 2002. I honestly see mine sometimes as being blueish, but mostly they are white. It really depends on the lighting outside.

Regarding their pictures in the brochure, they are totally photoshopped.

If you take the first image in Photoshop and AUTO CONTRAST and AUTO BRIGHTNESS it -- its true color comes out. White. Same w/ the green screen one.
