Update: 7/22/11

Pictures, show that they are, fitment does to. The last thing is to get my alignment redone..car drives much better.

Pre 7/22/11 post (6/9)

Looking up some front Upper Control Arms; I saw this thread

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...r-chassis.html

Then I realized while looking up via google; I kept getting the same things over and over. I dont know where to look up parts interchangeability so I'm turning to you guys here.

I would go with the adjustable SPC arms but they haven't been used much on here.

Cliff Notes: I purchased a brand new upper control arm from a member on here around August of last year. Lo and behold the control arms ball joint has busted and I can't get in touch with that member as theres no listed contact number and I've forgotten his s/n on here. (if I remember it was a black GS on black g35 forged wheels). Apparently this part was warranted and I see exactly why the boot busted (the edges where the ball joint hit the upper arm are crazy sharp, if I would have filed it down then things would have been fine).

Would be interesting to find out, I need a left UCA and looking at new prices isn't enjoyable.... I made a replacement in solid works and may end up just machining a set with a replaceable and adjustable ball joint.

Just bought a 93-97 Driver Front UCA.

I pulled everything out of the bags and they line up exactly the same. Same ball joint height, same rod arm lengths. the only thing is that the arms on the 93-97 look alot more sturdy.

Going to install this weekend, get an alignment and report back.

Some pics -- will update this info in my original post as well.

I've got the Daizen FUCA bushings on my old control arms that I will be putting on my new control arms when I have time.

I will be going back this weekend for a new alignment and will report back but everything seems to line up and fit correctly.

What was the benefit of the 1st gen arm versus the 2nd gen? I may have missed that point.

It's the same fitment. Same part numbers. There should be no difference unless Toyota revised the part at some point. But I don't see it as it is the same part number.
