I know it may be a bit late but......I work at a Lexus dealership. Our price for timing belt, water pump, serp belt is $320 at full boat list...which should be negotiable....and 660 for labor.....which should also be negotiable. I recently had this done on my 03 GS430...personally I wouldn't replace seals and such if they are not leaking. The 430's don't tend to have many issues so I wouldn't replace more then you need too. We have only replaced 3 tensioner pulleys and 4 tensioner assemblies in the last 2 years. I wouldn't count on either one being a problem.

maybe so but its not worth the hassle of NOT replacing them while your in there. my vote is to DEF replace the tensioner and tensioner idler pulley while your in there....IF it went out afterwards your paying that silly labor price again when it would have been a small fee to do it then....

The basic reason for my post was to give an idea of what pricing should be.....or at least what it is here at my dealership. You def can't go wrong replacing more then what is needed.....except in the case of your wallet not allowing you the luxury. Also, see if they will throw something extra in. If you were to have the work done here we actually include a lifetime warranty if you pay full price. Again, some would rather have the discount and thats fine but if you plan on keeping it for quite a while it would be worth the insurance......much like the case of replacing extra parts.....good luck!

And, I'm wondering why there are such a huge discrpancies on the pricing to replace the belt...I mean the Firestone told me $366 and Toyota dealership is doable at $450 which is miserly pricing compare to other quotes. I'm definetely missing something here folks! I'm in leaning towards either a Lexus or Toyota dealership to get my GS3 timing belt done albeit much pricier, plus I might scrunge up a free rental car for a day

good luck!

But with that extra 50$ you get better donuts and coffee
