How fast have you driven in your GS?
#5
I have gone almost to redline (past 140) on my GS, and I think it went a little past the line between 140 and 160. I say "I think" because I only looked down to see the speed for a split second. The car was floating too much, and there wasn't any road feel what so ever. Didn't seem like the tires were gripping the road, and I definitely wasn't secure with the car at that speed. IF the makes any sense. I won't do that again, but I had to see what she could do. By the way, I was racing a MB CLK430 at the time, 3am in the morning, no traffic, and almost a total straight away.

I think 120 or 130.
But I have to say, I had more fun going maybe 45 or 50 this past weekend in the severe twisties. A GS with suspension mods is a ton-o-fun.

I agree with Dex, I think it is a lot more fun testing exploiting the handling and than acheiving maximum speed. I think I have gone about 125, then chickened out and slowed down.

120 was the most I ever did, on I-5.
As KayGee and everyone one else stated, it's not a good idea going that fast if you and your GS want to stay safe.
Do it for the rush and fun but not everyday. Just want everyone of my brothers and sisters to stay safe!

120 MPH was enough for me for a short burst on I 95. The limit is 65 and if there was radar trap I wouldn't be able to hunker down fast enough to avoid a BIG ticket + penalty points on the insurance rating. I now pay over $5000/year total for my GS,+ the wife's mini-van + daughter's 900S. My 20 year old son and 17 year old daughter are the issue. Oldest son already got bagged at 95MPH on I95.
Also, 2 x the speed limit is driving to endanger. That's an automatic loss of license here in MA not to mention the grief of being arrested.
I agree that the fun is in the turns as well as rapid acceleration rather than terminal speed.
