Default To cut, or not to cut. That is the question...

So I ordered the CREE super bright LED reverse bulbs and with our tailight design, the led actually reflects off of a mirror and then lights up the rear. Also our lense breaks up the light a tid bid also.

Now, my question is. Do the aftermarket LED tails position the bulb to shine directly outward?

If not, has anyone cut the housing up to reposition the bulb to shine directly out instead of reflect?

These things are bright as hell dont get me wrong, but i think they have a bit more potential.

thoughts?

The reverse lights? they use a 7440. Do you have LED tails or something? does it shine directly out?

If you put a LED in the reverse light it will not be as bright as a halogen bulb.

stop thread jacking.

My question still hasnt even been touched. Has anyone repositioned there reverse lights to shine directly outward rather then reflect outward?

As for halogen vs led. The LED's i have shine in one direction and are extremely bright.

here they arein action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nL0oI...layer_embedded

I was thinking about cutting 2 identical holes. one where i would reposition the socket and housing and the other where the existing one is. I would swap and glue them into place and boom now it shines directly out rather getting reflected... ideas?

I'll answer for probably all. No. Noone would do a senseless mod when there are plenty other options available and better.

This one comes with 6 cree bulbs already installed.
