Default Bad Bulb or Ballast?

Driver side low beam is out on 02 GS430. When i turn the headlight on it flickers and then cuts out. Is this a bad bulb or ballast?

Thanks for help

Try swapping the bulbs to see if you have a bad bulb or ballast.

I'm guessing it's the ballast. I had the same problems twice. Had to change the ballasts.

Try swapping the bulbs as told before, it might be just that. A lot easier and cheaper too!

It's the bulb. Same thing happened to my GS. Now you can upgrade to 6000K HID

^^ i agree to ive really dont notice that much in output between 6000k or 4300k just color anything above 6000k you start loosing output in my opinion ...

First thing I'd do is swap the bulbs from side to side and see if the problem moves as others have said. If you need new bulbs there are plenty of options.

I don't know that 6000k's are necessarily an upgrade, I'm running them but the output is a little less than 4300k's. They have a little more blue-white color than the stock bulbs but sacrifice a little useable light. It's not much but if you want to keep the car stock and keep the most output you'd probably be happier with 4300k.

Had the same issue and it was just the bulb, and the fuse.

Search fleabay, I picked up a set of D4 OEM Denso ballasts and bulbs for about $300 delivered to Australia... They've been going strong for 3 years or so now.
