what ive learn is that a cold solder (industrial name ) when a solder wasn't welded right from the factory sometime you can fine it solder it back most likely its coming from the ribbon plug going to the screen or the screen its self ive repair old school head unit in that matter before take it apart there not much in are head unit its mostly open space in there

There is a DIY here on how to remove the radio. Removing the LCD from the radio itself is a piece of cake. There is a white rectangle plastic attachment on the old LCD (it attaches the LCD to the head unit). You need to remove that and place it on the new LCD (it does not come with it). You need a soldering iron with smallest tip you can find and a soldering iron sucker. This will be the hardest part because the pins are very small and they cannot touch other pins (short circuit). Easy way would be to pay someone to solder it for you. Install in reverse and you're done.
Edit: Found the DIY. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es3...radio-lcd.html. Good luck!

The LCD does not have any wire just sets of pins thats soldered on the board. Thats how mine was years ago and I kept doing what you were doing. Then slowly the LCD leaks till half or all the screen is gone. You can still use it till you can't read it anymore. But at the end, replacement is the only solution. At least you don't have to replace the whole unit.
