After I did a major overhaul (balljoints, struts and upper control arms) this sound came about too... at first I thought my lugnuts weren't properly torqued but that's not the case.

Im trying to figure it out myself

OK....cant believe I'm going to post this, but I found out what causing my jangle jangle!! 2 of the screws with the built in washers were backed out from the plastic under belly / fender plastic stuff. The little washers were just rattling away. take a look under and snug up all those 10mm heads. Hope this helps some of you guys!

So I have been observing the sound for the past week and I determined it was actually coming from the back of the car. It is weird because my car doesn't make the sounds when I am braking. It only makes the sound when I go over bumps with the brake pedal released.

Anyways, I jacked up the car today and I banged on the rear parts with a rubber hammer. I was able to recreate the sound. However, the sound is not coming from anything brake related which confuses me. The sound is actually coming form part of the Height Control System.

The parts shown above are a bit loose and are clanging together where the ball joints meet. We tried to tighten these parts up but the sound will not go away . We even put a washer between one of the ball joints and the nut but it only deadened the sound a little bit.

OK, I am getting similar in right hands turns when hitting tar strips/potholes. It's a faint metallic 'clank'. My thought is sway-bar link since its a turning thing. I am taking the car in to Lexus next week for shocks and will ask them to diagnose. I want them to test-drive and check every single piece of the F and R suspension. Will let you know what I find.

Okay, decided against removing the height sensor.

What I did was take a look at my shop manual. Basically on the rear stabilizer bar end links you tighten them by putting and allen key into one side of the upper part bolt (ball joint) and then use a 17mm wrench to tighten things.

I did that and report back that theres not much sway or bump steer (still need to change out both front and rear upper arms to rule out certain things) and no more clanking when backing out of my driveway/going over bumps.
