Lol - yeah I got my GF a set of the blue/black Piloti's for Christmas last year. It's the only thing she has that's nomex, so we laugh about there just being a little set of ankle stumps, feet and shoes left if her NSX goes up in flames.

edit - and she does drive about 7hp faster when she wears them.

RMMGS4--

Can you elaborate on how these pedals install?

Do you remove the stock pedals or do they screw into the stock pedals?

I removed the rubber pads on the brake and parking brake pedals. The gas does not come apart. It's all one piece plastic. I then had to drill holes to mount the pads. The brake and parking brake are smaller then the Sparco pedals.

On the brake pedal, I could barely get the top two top holes drilled. The bottom hung over and there was nothing to bolt to. So on the bottom two holes, I took a flat metal plate and drilled two holes that line up with the bottom two holes of the Sparco pedal. The plate then gets bolted to the Sparco pedal from the back side which sandwiches the brake pedal between those two pieces. Very sturdy and secure when it was all done.

The parking brake, you need to drill two holes top and bottom to mount the metal backing plate (provided). Then once that's bolted on, you can then bolt the Sparco pedal to the backing plate using the 4 bolts provided.

The gas pedal is another story. I had to cut the factory plastic pedal so that the Sparco pedal would be the only visible piece from the front. Look at your factory gas pedal. It's angled, but I wanted the Sparco to be straight up and down. Another reason for the cutting.

I need to align the gas pedal a little more, so I will remove it this weekend and shoot some pics of what's left of the factory pedal. The factory spring is still intact, I just trimmed the pedal all around. Sparco does sell a large gas pedal, but it is probably too big to use on our cars.

I'll publish a DIY on this if there is enough interest.

Default CL Meet Pricing.

(Edited 9/17)

Sorry all, at the request of Sparco I have been advised that only MSRP can be listed on the internet, so I had to remove the discounted prices I originally posted.

Downforce Distributing will still offer the same discount, but you have to contact them for pricing. Discounts apply to all other Sparco and Stillen products, not just these pedals.

Offer expires Nov. 30.

For my pedal set that comes out to:
Accelerator Pedal MSRP $25, CL Meet Special $ CALL
Brake Pedal MSRP $39, CL Meet Special $ CALL
Clutch/Brake Pedal Pair MSRP $39, CL Meet Special $ CALL

I was told they will ship anywhere in the U.S.

I've pasted the info from our meet flyer below (discount amount edited out):

Downforce Distributing
Patrick Owens-President
Authorized Distributor for:
Stillen Brakes Pros…
Sparco Motorsports…

Receive a special discount off Performance Parts mentioning ClubLexus.

Good til’ November 30, 2002

Check out these "Reflex" pedals from Sparco: http://www.sparcousa.com/tuning_pedals.asp?page=2

When I first sawa photo of the "Large" gas pedal in the Sparco catalog I thought it was a dead pedal. I only realized it was a large gas pedal when I looked it up on their web site. They do offer an "automatic" large brake pedal for the Reflex set, so it's all do-able.

I would have been tempted to try this out had I known this earlier. I might ask Downforce Dist. to loan me this large pedal to see how in looks as a GS dead pedal.

Unhappy look again

On the Sparco website, those are each prices for the gas and brake for the "STRIPES" pedals. Some pedal prices are each and some are for a set.

I said Downforce Distributing would sell for XX% off of MSRP (including the XX% meet special) on any SPARCO product, so whatever price you see on the Sparco website. Take XX% off and that's the price.
