1998 GS400 transponder key program
Anyone have info on programming a new transponder key? I have one original but would like to have a duplicate. I have searched the forums and found the sc programming sequence but not the gs. Thanks.

I swear to God I'm going to pistol whip the next guy who says, " Shenanigans." Thanks for the info sakataj but I am tring to program it to start the car.
Ok, here is what I found:
To duplicate a key:
1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition.(DO NOT TURN)
3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times.
4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and remove key.
5. Within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition.
6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time. At this time the security light starts blinking.
7. After 45 to 60 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off (stops blinking).
8. Remove new key and try starting the car.

Did you try this and it worked? I lost my valet key and bought one today. Did not have them program it so I can give this a try.

Just out of curiosity, what are the other way you speak of? I now know the way above works for a 98 gs400 but if there are other ways that might help others, then let's get it out.
