Default Changing oxygen sensors?

Hey just got back from advanced auto parts and they told me my gs has problems with its oxygen sensors. Thank god it wasn't the tranny Just wanna know how much it will cost to fix. The guy at AAP told me 400 for parts maybe another 100 or 200 for labor

o2 sensors are $60 from amazon, its basically unscrew and screw in.

rip-off. Order through amazpn, eBay. There sometimes is multiple sensors so you might have to change few different things.

brand doesnt matter. since the gs is dual exhaust i believe their are 4 HO2 sensors. So i can just jack the car up and change em?

Just be careful not to strip them on the way out. Car is old, its a part that expands and contracts and rusts. I've seen it happen. Broke the treads on the inside, so it just spun in place.

The oxygen sensors can be easily changed with the proper tools. But sometimes, even with the proper tools may not able to get them off because they might be stuck dead and you might ending up rounding out the the sensor's nut.

Any of these will work (even a few others)






nut can still be brittle and as said above, can be rounded off... Then you need yet ANOTHER type of tool

I used this tool



What i did was i pushed the socket while turn to insure that it'll grip and not strip the sensor. Maybe it help that the engine was warm too.

You can rent these tools from autozone.
