Can any one help me with the location of the charcoal canister vent valve on a 98 gs300. Pictures if possible. On what I am looking for and its location... If possible. I thank you all in advance.
I just bought a OE replacment valve for under $40 shipped, however the costly part of this would be the money for labor to get it installed, or you can do it yourself but its a pain, I am still holding off on doing mine even though I have the valve already.
egay lol.. I check the acutal part number printed on it and it is the same one another member used for his DIY and is a direct oem replacement so that is the reason I went with it.
above the differential and check the link posted above for the DIY steps, however there are no good pictures of the acutal location. I had my car on a lift a few days ago and it was still a pain to see, not something I am looking fowarding to doing at all.
Has anyone tried contacting Lexus about this? Seems like the ES's have a problem with their canisters too..and they had some kind if recall..the canisters are meant to last decades..and for it to fail as soon as 80k is horrible..and it's pretty common..maybe the dealer will pay half or something..I wanna give em a call n ask..jus wanna see if anyone has tried yet
Ya.. I would say almost all 3.0 L V6 engines from Lexus/Toyota is notorious having EVAP codes. If the problem is not from the EVAPcomponents, then most likely, the PROM is gonna need to be reflashed by the dealer.
