Default Help! No signal from ipod system(Harman Kardon)

Bought my 00 GS400 with this Harman Kardon ipod system in it. Picked up a used 20gb classic ipod and tried it on the Harman Kardon ipod system and I couldn't find a way to get the signal from the Harman Ipod system. The system screen displays everything correctly and it does show "now playing". I just couldn't figure out how to get the signal from it. Any ideas?

Looks like the system is operated by FM modulation. You will have to find the brain unit and see if there is an FM channel selector switch or perhaps it is set using the display. Try to find a manual on the unit to find out, or you can just try each FM station until you find the right one...

Sounds like an issue you should take up with the guys in the Audio section.

How does FM modulation work? Set a station with the brain/display then tune to that channel with my FM radio?

I think I remember something like "FM setting" or something similar while playing with the display. I will check first thing tomorrow morning and give the updates.

Agreed, after i got it to work I didn't like it either. It made my ipod songs sound like TAPE QUALITY. Seriously, when you skip to the next track or when the song is about to begin/finish you can hear a lot of hiss just like what you would hear from a cassette tape. Also, the volume is very low when using this ipod system. Playing music with the Harman system at 2/3 volume is the same as 1/3 volume with my oem cd changer. Not cool at all. Now I'm thinking should I return my Ipod to the pawn shop and just stick with CD's...not sure.

I don't recommend Harman Kardon ipod system to any one.
