![Question](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Does anybody have instructions on how to remove the rear bumper on a GS? I did a search but can't find anything.

MikeGS4PE,
I was hoping that somebody with the books could scan the page or I am sure somebody has taken their rear bumper off could tell me if it is just a few bolts or if there is a lot of clips and hidden screws.

Going off of memory here you go:
Remove the rear trunk mat.
remove the plastic black trim piece that lies on the front edge of the trunk. This is the one that is right in front of you when you open the trunk.
Remove the lining (carpet) that covers the taillight screws
There should be some screws there for the top of the bumper-10mm-remove these-not the ones for the taillights.
Remove the screws -(4 or 5) under the center of the bumper
Now for the tough part.
On the side of the bumpers ,right behind the rear wheel lies a nut on both driver and passenger sides.
Get under the car.
A 10mm nut lies up in the top of the bumper in the corner where the top corner of the bumper meets the rear wheel area.
A ratchet with a 16" extension(s) in required to reach the nut.
Remove the nuts.
Also check in the trunk in the same area to check for any scres on the opposite side.
BUmper should come off.
It is a 15 minute job once your familiar with it.
Hope this helps

Lee,
Thank you... I figured that somebody has done this at least once. Always makes it easier when you have some general idea of what to expect so that you don't break anything in the process.
