Angry Is this possible???

have a 2001 gs300 with OEM HEATER/AC CONTROL UNIT W/Navigation. i want to kno if i can remove the navigation and go back to the stock OEM ORIGINAL HEATER/AC CONTROL UNIT, (without navi screen). the reason is, the navigation screen controls everything! (audio & AC controls) i want to go back to the original control unit so i can upgrade to a new screen. its the only way so i dont lose my ac controls. is it possible to do this with ease? or is it gonna cost me an arm and a leg to do this? its a 2001 so its a little out dated and want to upgrade to a nice screen with gps. please reply!!! thnx

let me make this very clear in regards to THIS particular thread, NEITHER OF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT AND THIS IS MY PERSONAL PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD GIVING ADVICE AND THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT. im not trying to make a thing with you star as we already have clashed a few times but please make sure what you posting is factual and true as this post DEF isnt.

OP if u would search like i suggested u would find thread after thread on how to do this and what you need to do. u could use keywords on the advanced search like "removing nav" or "replacing nav" or something similar to these words

bottom line all u need to do is pickup a NON nav climate control and a aftermarket double din, single din, half din or we your wanting to put back in their. THE REST IS PLUG IN PLAY, THE NON NAV CLIMATE CONTROL STRAIGHT PLUGS UP. NO REMOVING THE DASH, NO BUYING HARNESS,OEM MOUNT BRACKETS, OR SPLICING ANYTHING

carson sells this double din kit that perfectly matches the OEM colors and fits a double din

here is a color comparison

The OEM climate control is a direct plug and play when the OEM navigation is removed. Period. This is well documented on this site.

Starfyrels - I suggest you search ClubLexus for the facts rather then eBay where some people will say what they have to just to make the sale. Plus the link you provided is for converting a NON-Nav car to have Factory Nav. LexLuger23 is looking to do the opposite.

LexLuger23 - Sakataj provided you with a couple good links. I suggest you bookmark the DIY Links thread as MANY questions can be answered by reading the links provided there.

Here is one more - Removing NAV in a 2003 GS430

Welcome to Club Lexus. Please ignore the rants of the forum cranks. They have lots of knowledge, but are not really new comer friendly.
