Default Knocking noise enigine questions

Hello CL member, I recently came across a issue that makes me .
Yesterday I drove to work and the car was fine and when I go to start my car after i leave my job i felt some weird sound coming from the exhaust so i rev'd it a bit then, a knocking sound starting coming from the top of engine.

Sound similar to this guys issue without the first ten second delay
If any one could help it would be highly appreciated

Thanks

If the knock is really bad then it sounds like it could be your pistons which would mean rebuild or new engine sorry for the bearer of bad news but before that conclusion can be met.

1) make sure your car has oil if the car is really really low on oil than it would make that noise as well and maybe you have and oil leak.

2) it could be you head valves. I really don't know how to check those.

Check that first.

Are you 100% positive that it's the engine knocking? Could be an exhaust leak.

It can still be an exhaust leak even though you got a new custom exhaust. But youd be able to disitnguish engine knock and exhaust leak.

That video is more of like a ticking sound. And engine knock makes a sound when you rev the RPMs up a bit.

I agree with a good quality video is the only real way we'll be able to help out. No oil leak is a good thing.

I did the oil change no difference at all.
After 12 second in to the video off youtube you will hear the exact same sound my car is making. I left the car running for like 10 minutes and every so often i would hear a popping noise from the exhaust. I also felt like the was about to die a times.

Sounds like a stuck valve...

I would do a leak down compression test.

Good luck and let us know.

Thanks

I was told by a friends that it might be the valve yesterday night. How do you do a leak compression test?
