Default 00 GS300 - No start

Hello, I am new to the forum. I just purchased a 00 gs300 a few weeks ago from an auction that did not run due to what I thought was a bad starter. The starter was replaced by a reman Denso unit. Then the car would crank over but still would not start. After some research and fuse checking, I noticed the check engine light was not coming on. When I pulled the cover for the ecu there was just loose wires there. I replaced the ecu with a unit from an 01 and the car started right up. I drove the cars for two days and now it won't start after being driven for any amoun of time. The car won't even crank over, but there is power inside the car and over 12 volts at the battery.

I have two questions
1. Would the immobilized cause the car not to turn over
2. Do these cars have a history of bad Neutral Safety switchs.
3. Is the starter relay under the dash. I hear some weird clicking when the keys in the Ignition.

I would like to say thank you for all of the help in advance.

Corey

I think the immobilizer system will not allow any car to start. That's what I gather from my old car. It could very well be a bad starter too if:

1. it was a reman, those fail a lot.
2. you could have killed the starter trying to crank it over to many times.

I dont beleive it's the starter since the car will crank over repeatedly if it is cool outside or if the car sits for a while after driving. But I will change it out for the hell of it this weekend.

If you suspect the immobilizer is the problem, check to see if you have fuel or spark. If not, could be the immobilizer is preventing the car from starting or you could have a bad crank sensor, but that case is rare.

Definitely the immobilizer. I think you would have to get it flashed to your key.
