Crystal Tail Lights
#4
My headlights are clear (for their age). The problem is my taillights. 3M just buffs off the top layer of the plastic to make headlights, or other plastics look new again. The problem with my Tail lights is that UV Rays wore down the color. This is a problem that 3M cannot fix.

I know exactly what your talking about, my inner tail lights were a pinkish color after I bought it second hand. I looked up the price for new ones, and at about $80 for the pair, I figured I'd at least try the cheaper solutions first.
I ordered some candy apple red translucent hobby grade spray paint off eBay for about $5, took off the inner tail lights from the car, sprayed it with a couple coats of color, let it dry, and then I sprayed it with a couple coats of clear spray paint. After they dried over night, I put them back on the car and they look as good as new. I stuck with this fix ever since (about 5 months ago) and they still look perfect.

Yeah I think my mistake was that I used PlasticX to make them appear brand new. I'm guessing when I used the PlasticX it rubbed off the Layer of UV Protect-ant because they have been fading rapidly ever since. I need to find a UV Protectant Clear Coat to use after I complete PlasticX Treatments so the Plastic isn't so vulnerable.
