Default Are ignition coils worth changing @ 150,000 miles?

Got a complete tune up this past week since my radiator went out (it cracked). While at it I had new spark plugs, MAF cleaned out, new fuel filter, new lower ball joints & outter tie rods installed. It was recommended i get new ignition coils but at $90 a piece for the Denso at my local auo parts store Im curious to know if its worth it and what difference would be that I would notice.

You only change it if it's a dead/malfunctioning otherwise, NO.

According to the repair manual. You would check the resistance through the coil with an ohm meter.

i wouldn't be too worried if your car is not misfiring.

^ Correct ^
They can be damaged, but it's not a normal part of routine maintenance.

Just wait till the CEL. Then, change them. No need to change as preventative maintenance.

Thanks. Looks like I have an extra $600 to spend elsewhere.
