I have a 2002 GS 430. I went on vacation and left my car at home for 3 weeks. When I got back and used the remote to unlock my car, it had a delay of a second or two. And now, 3 week later, it still has a delay of a couple seconds or so when I lock or unlock the car with the remote. The beep also occurs about a second or so late. It does work, but it's annoying.

Any ideas?

Sometimes mine does that to but not all of the times..... I have no clue;(

Yes, it's quite annoying. I think it's related to the locking system, because when I put the car in gear from park, it used to immediately lock all the doors. Now it does this a few seconds later as I'm driving away.

Mine doesn't lock the doors at all when put into gear. How do you activate this feature?

I don't know how to activate the feature - it's always done it since the day I bought it.

I think it's in the C-Best settings and it's something that only the dealer can change. Im sure others will chime in.

ok so just recently mine has had a delay of about 3-4 seconds from when i press the unlock/lock button to it unlock/locking and light flashing, and horn beep. any ideas? is the battery going out in the remote?

Go to the dealership and ask them to check or reset your C-Best settings

I would try the battery in the remote first and go from there. If memory serves me the battery size is a cr1616 that is available at most stores.

I think its one of your lock actuator starting to crap out. Stand next to each door and figure out which one it is by locking and unlocking the car. Than slowly watch it die. Or autozone for a free battery test. You did leav it for three week and who knows how old the battery is....

Cbest settings is like factory option setting that is already on the car. It is done with a tool that plugs into your OBO to turn the options on and off. I think you can buy one now a day to do such. Here is a link posted by member Manaray on cbest. CBEST

oslouie: something like door auto locking when put in gear, some dealer can do it for free. Just ask around.

ok so i just went out side and started to lock/unlock to see if a door lock was sticking and now it works fine? wtf
this just started happening a few days ago? now it works perfect. any ideas now guys?
