so i purchased a gen 2/3 10.1 navi disc for my 01 GS430. I took out old disc from trunk navi player and inserted the new one. I let it fully load and it shows the map where I am driving but when stopped I can not access any features like entering a destination. Could someone help me with this problem.

I haven't upgraded to the (Gen 2/3) 10.1 yet, because of the price mainly, but also- I believe past the 7.1 (8.1, 9.1, and 10.1 dvd's) that they do NOT allow the Override Drive function to work anymore... I guess I can't ask you, since NONE of your stuff seems to working properly!? Hmmm...

If I were you, I would eject the new 10.1 disc and then start the car, and REinstall the new DVD and see if it fixes itself. I wish I could be of more help...

Only thing I could suggest is- ARE YOU SURE YOU INSTALLED THE (CORRECT) --> Gen 2/3 version of the 10.1 dvd and not another Gen ???

Thanks I tried that and still not working. I tried putting my orginal disc that came with car and the features of entering a destination are all grayed out. Im stumped not sure what to do. I did diagnosic check where u put key in on position, apply parking brake, hold down audio & climate buttons while turning headlights on & off 3x. No errors were found.
someone help please going on a road trip tomorrow.

Where did you get the dvd? I have a 9.1 in my car now and never had any issues. And correct me if im wrong, but I dont think you can go back to an older version once you install a newer one.

I did go back to originial version 1 and it works again. Not sure why 10.1 is not working...
