Purchasing 2JZ-GTE
Im in the market to buy a 2jz-gte and found these two suppliers but the price difference is nearly $1K and I cant figure out way other then one says year 94+ and the other 98+
Does anyone have any recommendations or feedback about either of these sites, or somewhere else to buy a engine?

The cheaper one does not mention including the ECU and engine harness. The more expensive one is low mileage but then it gets confusing and says the rear differential and axles are included, but then it say not included? You have to give both of them a call and make a checklist of everything you want/need and see if it is included in the price.

I used japandirect (your second option listed)
So far so good and all you need is the prop shaft and it DOES come with that. It also comes with side mount and piping, ps res but no bracket....you can get one for a 03 GS430 and it works.
Engine runs good but the pedal position sensor was bad and is a JDM only part. However you can modify the gs300 sensor and it does work.
Decent guy to deal with regardless.
Oh yeah....I got the engine 2 days after I purchased it!

I called the cheaper one, Tiger, and they said its $200 extra for the ECU and wiring harness. Engine has 25-25K miles on it. I have a 98 GS300 so im not sure if I need a ecu and wiring harness. Im not really quite sure about every detail I must have either, like side mount and piping, ps res, bracket?
With having a 98 GS300 what should I make sure I get when purchasing the engine? Are there parts normally not included I need to buy separate?

You need the harness and ecu.....the car won't run correctly without the ecu meant for that engine. If you get the one from jdmdirect you will have all you need. It's worth the extra $$$.

JDM direct is still a lot more but what would I be getting different for the extra $800? Im still not seeing why I would pay more, just trying to understand if Tiger is $1890+200(ecu/wiring) thats $2090. Or jdmdirect is $2800. Still getting the same parts or not?

It may not be worth it to you but I wanted the factory intercooler, piping and airbox with MAF. Also, if you don't get the prop shaft you will have to modify the one you have (pay someone to change it via fab work). If you get the package from JDM direct it is essentially plug and play with the exception of one wire.....
Also, does the tiger package come with igniter? JDMdirect does.

JDM direct answers the phone everytime I call and like I said....I got engine 2 days after I ordered it......and he still answers the phone everytime! I've got him looking for other aristo parts for me....

They didn't have the diff and axles(to the wheels) when I ordered.....but you don't need them. Some say that you HAVE to use the aristo prop shaft and some say you can use the GS shaft.....regardless the one from JDMdirect comes with the aristo prop shaft.....I used the front part of the aristo shaft and read part of the gs one and it fits perfectly....just remember that in order for this swap to be a sinch you must have a 98-00 GS300....its more difficult if you have the 01-05,....
