OP, I do agree with ****-adkt though on having your CEL fixed the right way but if you're wanting to try the ECU reset, here is how:
1. remove the negative battery terminal for 30 minutes then reconnect and you're good to go.
2. the fusebox under the hood. Standing at the passenger side fender looking into the engine bay, it's the first 20 amp mini-fuse from the bottom on the left side of the 2 rows of fuses in fusebox. It would be the one that says "ECU-xx" on the cover.

I find that hard to believe. I just did my reset yesterday and there is definitely an improvement in acceleration.

man just did the ecu reset my acceleration is a day and night difference now but my taillamp error light is still on the engine light is off but if it comes back i have to fix it and the main reason i did the reset was for the taillamp error to go away all of my lights function right i am thinking it is the spoiler brake light it is led i think and it says texas dar on it.

BTW the tail lamp light has NOTHING..NOTHING to do with your ECU..But you would have known this if you'd searched. Its simple to fix, and can be caused by different things.. Another useless thread..

1. Disconnecting the battery should reset the ecu relatively fast (5min or so tops)
2. An OBD2 scanner is the proper way for as it will also tell you what fault code(s) your ecu is reading as well as clear them.
3. Like stated above, tail lamp malfunction light doesn't involve the CEL. It's probably the trunk light if it's an aftermarket led.
4. You probably need a tune-up.
5. Console lid is probably worn down at the latch due to years of arms being rested on top of it. Not only that but resting your arm here will ruin the leather over time if not taken care of. I make it a point to not rest my arm there..
