Default Need help from electrical/audio gurus!

Okay I'm still trying understand my new Lexus. First off it is a 2000 GS 400. I am having a problem with my audio equipment. My first problem is understanding which is stock and what is not. I've been searching the forums and i have seen that Lexus has a partnership with Eclipse Audio, am I getting this right? I have an Eclipse DVD/Nav, the AVN5435 model i think it is I cant recall off the top of my head, was this an option or did a previous owner install it aftermarket? It looks just like the one in posts #9/#10 of this thread.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...-your-2gs.html.

Second I am 99% sure my sub is aftermarket. I also have 2 amps in the trunk. Powerbass Brand model XA-485 and XA-9000 the first one is 345 watts the second is 900 watts. They are attached to a sub box that houses one 12 inch sub I think. It is hard to see and i do not know what brand it is.

The problem that I am having is that when my car is turned on, NOT STARTED, just in the on position the powering up screen shows up on the head unit then i hear a sound like if your ears would pop kind of and it does this repeatedly and won't turn on until the car is started and moving. This only happens when its in CD mode, it doesn't happen when it is on the radio. Is this because I have a blown fuse somewhere? i thought if i had a blown fuse that it just wouldn't work at all? Or is this because the battery cannot power all of the equipment until it's juiced up from me driving, and there's a possibility I would need another battery to power my audio equipment?

Also when I am driving along i can't turn the volume louder than 30 for more than 20 seconds otherwise it will make that ear popping sound again like it's shorting out and restart itself, and continue restarting itself until i turn the volume down.

I would like to get some input of this from you guys on here before i take it somewhere and pay a lot of money to find it is something I can fix myself. It's dark out now so tomorrow i can post pictures/video of the equipment and problems if you'd like so you guys can better understand. Thank you in advance for the help.

EDIT: here are some pictures i found on my phone that maybe can help out a little

Would that be the dial on top of the amp found in picture #4? This will make the bass hit less correct?

go to a car stereo shop and see if they will help you set the gains on the amps, also you might want to check the video-bypass (the trick to let the dvd player play dvd's while you are moving). if neither of those help, look into a new 5 channel amp to run everything, make sure it is name brand, eclipse, focal, mb quart, alpine, orion, ma audio, ect...you have a great headunit, need the same quality amplifiers to match it. The popping you are hearing is from basically a poor quality install, first thing i would do is find the ground wires on your amps, make sure they are huge, follow them to where they connect to the car, this should be as close as possible to the amp, disconnect them and make sure they are getting good contact, you might have to grind off some paint, the ground should be bare metal to bare metal. no paint, carpet or anything else.

hope this helps

by the way you can get good quality equipment cheap off craigslist.

one more thing make sure both amps are grounded to the same spot on the car.
