I have a wierd quirk with my 01 GS300 and was wondering if anyone else has had this or knows what is causing it. When I put my car in park or reverse and hit that gas, once I hit 5 MPH I get a "ding" like the door is open, however it is just one chime and thats it. The funny thing is it doesn't do it all the time, sometimes I drive the car and nothing, but if it does it it does it for the entire trip. Anyone heard of this? I have a vvti Aristo swap.

I dont know, I'm always wearing it LoL. but many cars do that when you're not wearing one.

It'll ding if your parking brake is engaged while moving.

Its not the seat belt, I tried that today.

That's probably the error as I have an issue with the parking brake warning light not coming on when the ebrake is pressed in. Ever since I did my Aristo swap the ebrake light doesn't come on when the ebrake is on. Thanks for the tip, do you know for sure that it does this? Is it only one ring when you hit 5 mph or so? If possible, can I get somebody can lightly engage their ebrake just enough to make the light come on then drive just like 30 feet, I would like to know if the same symptoms happen, just a single door chime is what it sounds like, it does it in reverse too.

Same things happened to me once and it was the parking brake. Might wanna check on that,

Just to update, the bell was the ebrake after all. Yesterday it rang, I stopped, put the car in park, set the ebrake, released it, and drove off.. No bell! Now I just need to figure out why the Ebrake light isn't coming on.

Check the bulb, maybe it's out.

Yeah check the bulb, and on the right hand side of the top of the ebrake assembly there is a single screw that holds the ebrake contactor switch so maybe check that and make sure it's not bent and the screw is tight holding it in place properly.
