Default Best/cheapest place for LED tails?

Seems like i can get a set of outers for $180-$200 on ebay, and a full set for about $250 shipped. Problem is, i'm not sure what brand is good. Not looking to purchase a set of the super nice jdm led tails, just something cheap/red/clear for my DD (but won't have dead led's in a month).

This has been discussed over and over again. If you search you will find your answer. Bottom line is that you get what you pay for. If you want to cheap out and get the $150-200 Taillights don't be surprised if LED's burn out or seal leaks which cause condensation or turn your taillights to fish tanks.

I'm running the Insurance taillights for about 1.5years and no problems. They are a little more pricy compared to the ones you find on ebay but I definitely think they look the best and best quality hands down.

I bought the Sonar LEDs and the passenger side had MAJOR leaking... After the 1st car wash which I made sure to barely put water on them. Some have good luck others don't. Any "cheaper" $150-250 set I'd suggest re sealing them for sure. I just went back to OEM.

You got ebay LED tails, Insurance and then of course JP. I recently ordered a pair of Option Racing Tails since they were cheap and I personally liked the thinner clear portion. But they were on backorder and I didnt wanna deal with Option Racing's shiity customer service, plus the product had some bad reviews concerning sealing and defective LED's. I'm taking my refund and getting Insurance Tail Lights.

It really all depends on your luck...plenty of people here has had good luck with their LED tails, some not so much. So buying a pair is really taking a risk.

There goes a story that might help you decide what to get. I suggest saving up for Insurance.

My eBay tails lasted 3 months. Don't recommend eBay LEDs.

Everytime I get any kind of lights from ebay, I seal them with clear silicone before installing. I've never had problems with leaking/water.

Some people can't afford to pay those high prices yet, still need new tail lights. I wouldn't care if it's legit, JDM, whatever. If it looks good, then I'm down. I myself don't see spending $500 on a set of tail lights. It's not like someone is gonna come up to you and say "OMG! Those are JDM/Insurance tail lights!". They're only freaking tail lights for God's sake.

No need to get so upset. If you can't afford the real thing then you can just get some 01's if you're in the 98-00 league. They hit just as hard. Plus LED's are so played out. Everyone has them nowadays that they're nothing special anymore.

Also you can search for a used set.... That's an idea.

I'm not upset, although sometimes I may come off as if I am. My point is that some of us like to ball on a budget and some are forced to ball on a budget. I personally like how my DIY red and clear came out but if I had to buy some tail lights, no doubt I would be going to ebay. I can't justify spending the extra $300 on a set of tail lights. I'd rather put that money somewhere else like a TTE lip or something else. Gotta stretch the dollar sometimes.
