Stock (Gs400) for Stock (G35). These cars are very close.. It a hard call because it depends on the driver.. The G35 is better off the line because its more peppy, the GS400 is awesome once it gets rolling past 2nd gear. Both quick cars.. but if you're the driver of the GS400 (If you fall asleep or not pay attention) the G35 will blast by you.. I'm not saying a G35 will win, it'll be a very close race but this is not really a matter of which car is faster - its a drivers race.. The driver determines the outcome...

I owned both cars at the same time and its pretty even stock vs stock but the GS400 has a slight edge if you REALLY know how to drive.. but make no mistake the G35 will take you out if you're not in total command of your GS400!
Couldn't be said better !

One of my best buddies has a 04 G35 Sedan on 20's we've raced many times and my GS400 has a slight edge even with all my audio equipment. The G35 seems to come off the line a tad quicker though, but once the GS400 hits second gear it's game over.

A nice set of gears/TC would really wake our cars up bigtime!

Lmao @ a 97 Maxima beign as fast as a G35. Unless it was modded.I think I saw a video on YouTube of one beating a GS430. I can testify that the 03 Maximas when modded can be fast. I had my butt handed to me by one once. Not saying much from a GS3 but

Yes all range from 14.5-15.0, my 97 was modded so it doesn't count but my auto 97 ran 14.9@ 94 mph. My 97 manual with out a turbo ran 14.6@96 with turbo ran 12.5@113.

Yeah speaking from experience, i use to own a '02 Maxima , I wouldn't have any problems out running GS300 or GS400 or even '01-'06 G35's. The '02' and '03 are the fastest Maximas stock to date. Out of the box I would run consistenst 14.4 runs , with mods 13.9. The VQ3.5 have alot of torque across the rev range but they lose steam up top after 120 mph. The 02 and 03 models were the last true
4DSC (4 door sports car) before Maximas got obese and slow. The '02 nd '03 models weighed 3260 lbs, 40lbs shy of a 350Z, so the weight to power ratio in those Maximas where exceptional.

But in the end I still rather drive my GS, RWD, luxury, smoothness, something the Maxima never had and my Maxima had leather and all the bells and whistles and the interior fit and finish was still sub par.

was the auto 97 max modded? Because that Nissan 3.0L VG engine only produced no more than 190 hp max

02 Max had 220, the 03 was bumped to 255. They are NOT the fastest stock Maximas to date. Have you seen the 2011 model???

Don't know how you took a GS400 in your 02 max unless it was heavily modded.

The vg stopped being produced in 94. The vq30 made 190hp 210wtq in a 3000 pound car. My auto was stock other than a drop resistor mod( up line pressure). My other ones were not. Most people don't realize how quick something can be if it doesn't weigh a ton. And yes the 5.5 gen 2002-2003 were the quickest.

The newer max's make 290 but keep getting heavier and heavier. Sucks but true.

Well I own a slightly modded 2004 G35 coupe and a 2000 gs 300. And there is no way a gs will keep up my G. It had to of been driver error, especially round 80 because from about 65-120 is where it gets fun!!

Sorry to let you know that your slightly modded G against my slightly modded G will leave you as feeling as 'slighted' as the 5 or 6 other G drivers who had the same thought. (hoping you're not using your GS3 as your baseline comparison)

Also beat a stock G37s from a roll at 40.
