Default So, a part of my radiator cap broke off

And is swimming somewhere in my cooling system. Its the bottom of the radiator cap, extremely flimsy, and no surprise that it fell off. I wonder if it will wreck damage

just do a complete drain and fill...open bottom drain plug and try to flush it out there. catch the fluid so you can verify that its out.

how big a piece we talking BTW?

I've no idea when it broke off, its probably been a while. so its swimming somewhere in the cooling system i guess. I just hope it doesn't clog cooling passages and doesn't get caught in the water pump. The piece is about 1cm^3

I haven't seen the core of the 2GS radiator, but if its anything like all the other cars, the fins are too small to let any large object past through. The broken part is probably near the top of the radiator. The largest opening up there is the passage that leads to the upper radiator hose. The good news is coolant will flow from the engine to radiator (via upper hose) so the missing part couldn't possibly be pushed into the engine.

I suppose if you really want to, you could remove the radiator and shake it upside down until the part falls out.
