Default Completed DIY Clear 98-00 Tails....took about 8 hours total!

So after reading some threads about this risky mod, I decided to try it out since I was at home and bored. When I started, I thought that 4 hours should be plenty of time to complete the task..............boy was I wrong!

I used an electric oven and followed the instructions like many have successfully done. However, it seems like 200 degrees in my oven was a little different from 200 degree in another person's oven. So my advise is to play with your settings +/- 10 degrees, but keep an eye on them so you don't melt the housing.

I also had to repeatedly put the taillights back in the oven when sections of the glue wouldn't budge. Every subsequent session was for about 10 minutes and my initial bake time was 25 minutes. Basically, you can look really closely at the lens and you'll see some of the glue getting hazy as you pry the lens off. DO THIS VERY SLOWLY as some parts are not ready to be split and can possibly crack the lens all the way across if you rush it. Just keep going back in the oven and take your time.

I have no cracks, but I also took more than triple the time others were spending on it since I wanted to make sure the lights didn't get damaged. Again, patience, patience, and patience! I think the other threads stress this but I can't stress it enough.

After the first light though, you understand the baking time and where to start prying.....so it goes MUCH quicker!

Here's how they look now:

Eventually, I want to maybe retrofit some LEDs to be a little different from the guys rocking Insurance and other LED tails. Good luck with yours!

I'd have to completely agree with you on that one.

I have the Black Chrome Lexus Badge for both the Front and Rear on order. I'm also thinking of going with the Grazio & Co Black Chrome Trunk Bar to match. Thanks for the suggestions!
