i told you when you texted me to put some gasket maker in the valve cover so you cannot possibly pinch it... i did my drivers side, pinched at work one sat and had to wait to get the part from toyota on tues since i didnt order it in time
drivers side is indeed a PITA passenger side isnt to bad thoough. did u use that universal swivel or a 10mm swivel like i told you about?

but any black form-a-gasket from a parts place should work the same
i dont recall the torque rating for these though

if u wanna buy it from the dealer (make sure you select the engine gasket maker which is black and not the orange/red tranny gasket maker)

theres no need to make a WHOLE entire gasket outta that stuff. itll just make re-installation WAY more messy if you dont align it right along with having the possibility of having that crap go inside n whirling around in the cam area.
the dab of FIPG is used to cover the areas that arnt 100% flat. e.g in that corner.

I did my VCG's on my gs300 over the weekend. Everything went smooth except that some of those evap hoses and that VSV lower hose have become very hard and brittle. I found myself using permatex black silicone sealant and electrical tape to repair the hoses and finish the job. I also forgot to connect some hidden air hoses under the y pipe which caused rough idling. All in all, the oil leak is gone, and car is running smooth. I have CEL from riding around with one evap air hose unplugged but I'm hoping it clears after enough driving. I used Fel Pro gaskets from rockauto. I did not use any sealant because I didnt want the mess and hassle of having to scrap it off in the future.
