I just joined this forum and I've been searching through the archived material. Looking forward to participating and finding out as much as I can about my new 'used' GS. Any tips or advice on what to expect is greatly appreciated. I bought my GS from a local dealer with only 64K miles.

Pics, specs, mileage, what you paid, what's wrong with it, etc..? I just got a 98 GS300 77K miles. - A couple of serious problems, one, water in carpet, driver's side, front + back, and when coasting, the rear (bearings, wheels, who knows) make a LOUD tap tap tap tap tap noise. Funny the car didn't exhibit those issues when I test-drove it for 2 days. (Did a lot of research, the used car dealer is willing to fix some of the stuff.)

New owner of pre-owned '99 GS300-nkjrx.jpg I need to buff out the headlights. A bit foggy.

Welcome, you will find a lot of info on this board. I too picked up a 01 Metallic silver with black interoir a few weeks ago. I have to post some pics when I get a chance.

I want to do the poor-man's chrome grille (plastic chrome strip). But I can't find the part, even on the mega-grille-post.

Which part? To do that grill, all you need is some paint stripper and take the black off. The undercoat is chrome.

Welcome aboard. Paint stripper will make your grill chrome. Beneath the black is the chrome.

Just as said before strip the front fins on the grill and it'll be worth it! I did mine today using aircraft stripper and cuetips.

The noise is fixed, slight shimmy in the steering fixed, water in the carpet (driver's side, front and rear) fixed. Now MODS! Need a NAV w/ backup camera, better speakers, winter tires, and early next year, 19" 5 spoke rims. Woot..
