Default Sharing my story and my GS (pics)

I purchased my first GS (a 400) back when the 2nd generation came out in 1998. But that one is long gone. Fast forward 8 years to 2009 when I picked up my 2nd GS. A 2000 Black Onyx GS300. 112,000 miles and it needed some serious work! neglected inside and out for years.

If you’re anything like myself, you have been modding and maintaining your GS with a passion.

After all the modifications I have done to my GS the one that sticks out as the most rewarding and worth every dollar ever spent is the TRD sway bars and Megan coilovers.

I cannot recommend these two mods enough. The two are the best modification I have done to date. Transformed the GS from an almost dangerous ride to the sporty feel I knew this car can deliver.

Here’s the work I've put in.

Megan Coilovers
18” 3rd Gen Wheels
RMM Exhaust
TRD Front & Rear Swaybars
Daizen Sway Bar Bushings (gone)
Daizen Steering Rack Bushings
OEM Outer Tie Rods
OEM Lower Ball Joints
OEM Front Lower Control Arms
01+Leather/Wood Shift ****
01+Compass Rear View Mirror
SportDesign Grill
Goodridge Braided Brake Lines
Cleared 98-00 Rear Tail Lamps
Top-Speed Crossmember Brace
Window Tint
Windshield Replacement
Halogen/HID conversion – 4K(retrofit coming soon)
HID Fogs – 3K
DIY Foglight Relay Mod
DIY LED DRL’s
Clear Side Markers
iPod Aux Input

(Regular Maintenance)
Replace: -- a few girlfriends along the way –

• Toyota Transmission Fluid
• Steering Fluid
• Differential Fluid
• Toyota Coolant Fluid
• ATE Super Blue Brake Fluid
• Timing Belt
• Water Pump
• Fuel Filter(s) replacement
• Air Filters (Cabin & Engine)
• OCV Valve Replacement
• DIY Door Lock Actuator Fix
• DIY Temp Servo Fix
• MAF/Throttle Body Cleaning
• Spark Plugs
• Fuel Pressure Regulator
• Fuel Pump
• Leatherique Treatment
• Polish Headlight Lenses

And many more not worth mentioning.

Looking forward to:

Retrofit TSX/LS460 HID’s
01+ Steering Wheel/Airbag
01+ Gauge Cluster
FIGS HeatShield
Clazzio Seat Covers (maybe?)
DVD/Navi/Satellite
Big Brake Kit

My objective is to keep having fun with this great platform for years to come. I would love to 2JZ-GTE it and go full blown on all levels but I am enjoying it as my daily!! This Lexus makes it through NE Ohio winters with snow tires and looks great year round due to my upkeep and the enjoyment that I get maintaining it.

I know it's no VIP but I wanted to keep the stock look with a more sporty feel.

Thank You members & C-L for giving me the know-how to resurrect a great car and at the same time **** off every girlfriend and wife I’ve had since! I have zero regrets..

Nice clean oem look. I'm sure your looking forward to the upgrades. I got the Megans too but had tein ss before and i think i like the ss better. Never bottomed out and hit the frame w/the uca's.

How much do trd sways run used usually? Does anyone have some?

Good work and good luck with your modding how's the V6 performance compared to your GS400? I've never driven the GS300 is it really a noticeable difference between the two?

Why did you get rid of the daizen steering rack bushings? Just curious because I just purchased some. Also any reason you didnt go with daizen bushings up front, or did you just want the "softer" ride?
