Default Hate FM transmitters, want direct connection to Ipod

00 Gs400 with oem deck/disc changer.

Currently have a Harmon/Kardon FM Transmitter Ipod system and I HATE the FM transmitter. Looses my volume about 30% and high beats static like hell. I actually sat in the car for 20min trying every single station and the best one still have statics on a regular hip hop song(treble).

So is there any thing out there I can DIRECT connect my Ipod to my OEM deck. Something like an AUX Input or USB input...Some kind of direct INPUT. This is pissing me off bc when I get like say 3 new songs I have BURN a new CD or listen to static music.

Whats available? Where can I get it?

I know exactly what you mean. I got Mark Levinson system and my radio and CD player can't play a sound anymore. Thank goodness for mp3 players. I got an mp3 player called ZUNE and it can play radio stations but with bad static as you mention. I believe the best alternative for radio is Sirus. You can listen to HD radio with it.

I want to play my own music and I'd like to stay with the oem deck for now bc if I upgrade its very tempting to go Alpine/Pioneer in-dash DVD/GPS...and I'm not ready for $700+ deck. Gotta save for 20" wheels next spring.

There is an AUX input on the Main head/controller for the Harmon/kardon but it still transmit through FM to the deck. All useless extra features. Got the car with this so thats why I'm living with it.

Check out Audio Control or JL Audio Cleansweep. They both got AUX input for ipod and you can keep your OEM headunit..

I have heard great things from these guys. $60 bucks and they will add a jack for you. They are very responsive to email as well.

I was looking into modding my Nak in my GS4 for an iPod aux jack. Will let you what I am able to do. Might have a different solution, but it will operate a bit differently.

Pretty close to what I was looking at. Figured I could get in there without such a complex relay setup, and then play a blank CD when I wanted the iPod....

If I get a circuit working that is transistorized can probably have it trigger a soft switch when the iPod is connected to it.
