Original owner of a '98 GS400 that just turned 270,000 this week. Outside of normal wear parts (tires, brakes, struts, tie rods, ball joints, etc.) and timing belt replacements, the only thing that has really worn out on this car has been the exhaust y-pipe that I replaced last year. Quite impressive.
I'm considering finally putting her up for sale this Summer, though. Living in Northern MI, an AWD RX would be much more practical for my wife to drive to work.
I would love to see how many miles this LS 460L could go. I do NOT see many LS 460's on this group posting high mileage. Why do you think? That scares me a bit. It seems like the deanship prices the service in a way to force you to buy another new one. It would be interesting to know the % of people that go very high mileage do their own maintenance or have a place service and repair it that is not trying to sell you another car. I would love some advice from other high mileage people on my current issue below....
Very interested in how to get Lexus Corp to fix my 2007 LS 460 L. I do understand there was a service bulletin that expanded the warranty on this faulty Brake Actuator system but it expired on 12/31/2017 and was limited to car with less than 150,000 miles. The previous owner never new it was possible to have it fixed by Lexus and now I am passed both the date and miles since I am at 172,000. I have all of the records on the life of this car that had all of the symptoms of a faulty brake actuator from soon after it was brand new. Lexus wants to now close my case with sorry you miss the deadlines and even thought the previous and current owner was never informed you will have to pay 100% yourself. (I have several estimates from about $2,000 to $6,000, if you add the ball joints and struts they recommend it is over $10,000 for a car worth about $10,000) The way I see it is that it is a fact that Lexus knows there is a faulty part that they put into this car and that faulty part is still in this car allowing a huge safety issue in not being able to effectively stop an over 4,500 pound vehicle, they need to pay to replace it. Anyone else have any luck on getting Lexus to do the right thing? I am passionate about getting them to do what I think they should. I switch from Mercedes to purchasing my next 3 cars from Lexus. I am also in the market for a new LX 570 at $100,000. I am shock and pissed they have denied to take care of this problem. I may need to start switching to A.B.L. (Anyone But Lexus... Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Acura?) I would rather stay with Lexus but without a fair resolution I will absolutely file for a divorce, its a moral imperative. Any and all help greatly appreciated!!

Maybe because you posted about your LS in the GS - 2nd Gen (1998-2005) Forum; Discussion about the second generation GS300, GS400 and GS430 (1998 - 2005)
I own a 98 Gs3. It has 376,345 miles. Original engine and transmission. This car ia still running in excellent condition. I do the regular matiance every 3 to 4 months. I'll but some pic of it later today.

Wow, at first I thought I would hit 300k easily now I'm not so sure....with Uber we seldom drive out when meeting friends for dinner, and we have our SC430 for nice weekends and trips to the beach. I really only drive my GS400 to work which is about 5-6 miles. Right now I'm averaging 6,000 miles a year so it will take me another 10+ years to get to 300k!
Ok, just curious how many people have actual miles on their GS3/GS4. Some say that they can go 300k miles easily. But if that is the case, how many have made it there?
Mine 98 GS4 is only at 140,500 miles. I bought mine at 138800 miles or so.
My 94 Cadillac Fleetwood made it to 250k EASILY. My 90 Aerostar Van made it to 275k (given to us, already on 3rd trans.... but engine was solid and strong, body was GONE), my 91 Pontiac Bonneville went 270k before we gave it away, again, easily, not a single major problem, original trans and engine and drive axles. Never even popped a valve cover.
My 2003 GS300 has made it to 287K thus far. Car runs good, but still i am working on a few issues with the Emissions system right now. I may need to change my EVAP canister (Gas pump keeps shutting off, hard to fill up). I had to change the CAM seals due to oil leaks and make sure if you have leaks ensure that you do the job yourself or take it to someone who is well versed on your engine. Just because people have businesses and say they can handle a job, do your homework on good mechanics. You should not have a lot of problems with your car, because this car will last you awhile. I have had my GS300 since 2009 and it's still rolling.
Body on my 01 GS300 has 254k miles, however the motor is not original because the previous owner blew it up somehow (probably starved it of oil), donor motor has 80k miles on it. I yoinked it for cheap and the white paint was in insanely good condition and it was really clean, haven't had any real problems with it and the thing always starts within two cranks.
190k on the gs4, drive 190k on the gs4 98 drive
the dog sh#% out of it daily yet chnage oil with synthetic and drain gear oil same time every 10k knock on wood , gotta love the onyx.
Well tonight I turned 314k miles. That over 500k km.

I wish Matt Farah would chime in on his LS that crossed 1M miles this week!
